But I hope they don’t go too far with the “rightsizing” and end up cutting essential public services or undermining job security for workers. Real reform should balance efficiency with strong protections for civil servants and make sure everyone benefits, not just private investors.

It’s about time Pakistan focused on efficiency and merit instead of just keeping bureaucrats around for life—let’s hope they actually follow through. Modernization and accountability in government should be a no-brainer if they want to compete globally.

Honestly, this is a much-needed step for Pakistan if they want to attract investment and actually deliver better public services. Bringing in technical experts on merit and ending those lifetime government jobs is long overdue—no economy can be competitive with an outdated, bloated bureaucracy.
